B.L.T.: The Big Long Talks…What Parents Want to Know

For over ten years I have worked with children with social, emotional and behavioral disabilities. As a result, I have had many lengthy conversations with parents of children struggling with mental health issues. There is no manual on how to parent even typical children, so the adage, “It Takes a Village” could not be truer! Parents have also taught me things that you don’t learn in medical school by sharing their invaluable and unique experiences.

My goal is to share something that can be of use to parents and families. Here, I will periodically summarize the content of some of the long talks about the big topics I’ve had with parents. Your feedback is welcome, including ideas and issues that you’d like to learn more about or discuss.
