FAQs

Choosing a new physician can sometimes be a bit overwhelming. That’s why I want you to feel comfortable about your choice. If there’s something I haven’t touched on, please don’t hesitate to ask.

What conditions do you treat?

Anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, disruptive behaviors and challenges associated with autism spectrum disorders.

How do I get prescriptions?

Prescriptions may be submitted electronically. Non-controlled substances may be called in to your preferred pharmacy. Federally-controlled substances usually require electronic or paper prescriptions, which are provided in person during appointments or can be sent through the mail. Long-standing prescriptions may also be filed with your preferred mail-order pharmacy. Refills will require follow-up visits for continue safety and monitoring. Patients receiving prescriptions for controlled substances require one in-person appointment annually.

Will my insurance cover my visit?

At this time I do not accept any insurance plans. Upon request, a receipt may be provided for you to submit to your insurance carrier for possible reimbursement. Patients/parents of minors are responsible for understanding their insurance benefits.

How do I prepare for my first visit?

Please download and complete the first six Office Forms. Signatures should be either valid electronic signature (not cursive font) or handwritten signature. Download and complete rating scales as appropriate for the presenting concerns and as discussed at scheduling. Please make pertinent documents (e.g. psychoeducational evaluations, IEP, etc.) available. Completed forms may be faxed to 443-457-2301. Please call after your fax is sent to ensure receipt. Alternatively, we may schedule a brief time to meet on-line via doxy.me (see Location tab) to transfer documents.

What happens during the evaluation?

The initial evaluation of the child/adolescent is comprehensive and is carried out over two appointments in person. In the first appointment, parents are interviewed. In the second appointment, the child is assessed and parents are verbally debriefed with clinical impressions and preliminary treatment plan.  The evaluation is completed by review of relevant records and obtaining observations from the child's teacher(s) and other care providers as needed. Follow up appointments are held remotely.
